VVW 909S
Originally a LB111 this truck was new to Martintrux - Chadwell St Mary back in 1977 running mainly to Italy. Later this truck was sold to Heavy haul at Chelmsford, Essex to run heavy haulage duties until parked in the brambles for many years. The truck was one in a long line of sister registrations one of which belonged to Essex International VVW 896S.

This truck has now been restored  - including many new parts including wings, grills, doors, floor pan. Truck carries Essex livery and since restored has participated in two major road runs for charity including Italy & Spain. Click here to see restoration pics.

PWC196R
Like above this LB111, was new to Martintrux running to Italy , before joining heavyhaul.

My father drove PWC 195R for Essex and so finding sister truck was very exciting. This truck was restored and has a new cab which was a remarkable find.

AFC 496R
This Volvo F88 - was new to Dawson Freight - Leighton buzzard where it pulled a tanker trailer running with a doubleman driver team to Milan -Italy.

Later belonging to a owner driver running to Switzerland - before spending years sat at a Volvo dealership in Kent before restored by Monty Guilford.

This truck has since appeared in Carlsberg TV adverts and road run to Italy and his truck is also accompanied with a skeletal trailer and container fitted with full living accommodation.

ESSEX INTERNATIONAL

Essex International was set up back in 1970 - when a owner driver Jack Harris, along with his first Scania truck EML 360J - LB110 left for  Novarra Italy.along with co owner Albert Walker the fleet began to grow ,running to Italy , Germany , eastern bloc countries and middle east.

When my father joined the company the fleet was 14 tractor units all
Scania with one solitary Volvo F12.

The unusual but effective colour scheme gave inspiration for the Kerbey colours today.
